What is the status of this initiative? Is this something we plan to do this quarter? In order to implement a new version, we would need an approved design by end of 2022Q1.
My team has an MBO about this, however, we don't have anything ready for us to implement.
I am concerned that we might not have enough time to complete this if we don't sort out the deliverables in the next week or two...
I am expected to report to Denis this week on MBO status. Please let me know if we plan to push this project to later and I will mark this MBO as POSTPONED.
@sgiacomoni2as and I believe this task will be completed in early Q3. It's getting a bit late for my team to commit to getting this done before the end of the quarter when the designs are not approved yet.
It might still be possible to get this done by the end of June if the design are approved and delivered to us by end of the next week. (Assuming that we are not doing a major re-design.)
I will be able to give a better estimate once the design is done.
As far as this home page is concerned, we need to keep in mind that we would like to remove the GEMOC research consortium from the working group page and add it to the research page. This will make more sense to most of us, including the GEMOC leader.
My idea was to consider GEMOC as a research project and have it have its own tile. WDYT?
I think this is more of a question for Sharon C. I think the best way to handle this is to create a separate issue where we involved Sharon to discuss what we should do with Gemoc on our WG page.
I personally don't have a strong opinion but Sharon might! This way this decision is not a blocker to implementing the new re-design we, could do it right after publishing the homepage redesign.
@sgiacomoni2as I also set the newsroom resource section to display case studies, white papers, and market reports. Let me know if these are all the resource types you want to display here.
Thanks a lot, @oliviergoulet for your work. The tiles suggested by @mkokabi look great !!!
Personally, I will remove from the tiles "Funding organizations: XXX" and "Project status: XXX". It doesn't really help the reading and we retrieve this information when we read more about the project.
I'm a little bit concerned by the size of some logos. I guess it can be fixed later by reshaping them? Correct?
For example, I don't understand why the logo of Panorama looks so small compared to some others.
Knowing most of these logos have 2 forms: a square one and a horizontal one, I might change some of them to horizontal.
After checking, I understand why Panorama looks so small: it is surrounded by a big white area...
I will fix that later :-)
Regarding the filter: filtering on the name of the project is interesting but it will be more useful to filter on the main topics. What do you think @mjahn0qp ?
Thx again for your work, Olivier. Greatly appreciated
I removed funding organizations and project status myself because it was code coming from a different repo (our component library, solstice-assets).
I agree, the logos look too small on the project cards. This is also a problem we have in other sites so I may look into fixing this without the need of replacing any images.
@oliviergoulet can we keep all the resources in a single row? They don't fit the subsections as well for the research page, so I'd rather keep the type labels hidden.
Btw, I also noticed that "REPAIRNATOR", because it does not have its own logo, appears as if an image is missing. In that case, could you use the default Eclipse Project Incubation logo instead?
I'm still waiting to see what the new logos look like. If they are still too small, I might ask you to increase the font size of their name at the top of the tiles. WDYT?
