Using Generative AI (GitHub Copilot) tools in Eclipse Che project

Greetings! I would like to ask regarding usage of generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot in Eclipse project (Che)

We are considering using GitHub copilot for its code review feature: https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/using-github-copilot/code-review/using-copilot-code-review

where GitHub Copilot can provide code review, highlighting suggestions, and even placing comments with suggested changes, that could be confirmed by the Eclipse contributors.

We would like to know, is there a way for us to know for certain, if usage of this tool is allowed for our public projects in github.com/eclipse-che repository? And are there any IP/Legal considerations, when it comes to using this tool?

Based on the intended use, I believe usage of the tool is aligns with the guidelines.

Your committer and contributor agreements all apply: specifically, the bits in the DCO that state that you have the necessary rights to make the contribution. I believe that based on the intended use, you're probably okay. Again, this isn't legal advice.

I recommend that you check with your manager to ensure that you are aligned with your org.
