Description
I'd like to push commits to the Eclipse Che Operator repo [1], so that I can run this script [2] to ensure the Dockerfile in that repo is always pointing at the latest available tag [3].
I've heard that Eclipse Foundation isn't a fan of machine-based commits, but I'm wondering if an exception could be made to encourage this Dockerfile to be kept current, and therefore free of CVE problems.
I realize the Dockerfile could simply use :latest instead of a specific tag, but then we would not have reproducible builds.
The bot I'm using for other similar runs of the update script [2] is this one [4].
[1] https://github.com/eclipse/che-operator/commits/master
[2] https://github.com/redhat-developer/codeready-workspaces/blob/master/product/updateBaseImages.sh
[3] https://github.com/eclipse/che-operator/commit/9ce11db452b4f62a730311b4108fe9ca6bc0b577
[4] https://github.com/devstudio-release
What do you think? Can this be possible? Or will I have to run the script manually at intervals to push commits myself?
