[oniro] Container registry for docker images needed

For oniroproject we need container registry for docker images

What is the current bug behavior?

Not know FQDN for registry No registry related options in project settings in gitlab.

What is the expected correct behavior?

registry FQDN address

In the setup we had, use used the GitLab container registry feature to satisfy the Docker images build requirements (https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/packages/container_registry/). Now that we have migrated the repositories to EF, I saw that the repositories/projects don't have an associated option for this feature in the settings. That could be due to permission, global configuration or maybe the GitLab version EF uses is not supporting it. Please advise.

We do not support it yet, we will take a closer look once GitLab has been moved to a new facility in Q2 (stay tuned for those details).

We will be using an external container registry while EF works on bringing this feature to its GitLab instance. I'll keep an eye on this issue and we will switch the configuration accordingly when this functionality lands in Eclipse GitLab.

As this is a global setting, this can have serious impacts on disk space usage and bandwidth usage.

1. What is the purpose of the Registry? To upload docker images for public consumption (user downloads) ?
2. If Oniro is using a registry now, what are the disk space and bandwidth requirement trends (volume/month)
3. As only Oniro is asking for this, are there external services that can satisfy this need?

Current utilisation for registry.ostc-eu.org is 80GB for almost 2 years of usage.

1. Currently docker registry is being used by CI jobs only.
2. Last 30 days is 4GB, 60 days: 10GB, 90 days: 14GB
3. registry.ostc-eu.org but our understanding is, this should be moved to EF
