What:

This Pr brings in the following changes:

1. Add and use clang format
2. Add extensions (missing at some places)
3. Fix many compiler warnings, compiles now with most compiler settings (ARM, with clang sanitizers, etc)

Due to the formatting it is nearly impossible to review - sorry for that
