- add cmake compilation optimization option if MacOS detected
- fix typo in NUM_CORES parameter
- fix issues related to unbound variables
- enhance allow log to print input parameters
- enhance allow for script parameters to be passed down to setup.py files by creating environment variables
- add remaining arguments to cmake call
