Bluesky account is not displayed correctly in our Gitlab profile
Summary
When configuring a Bluesky account in our Gitlab, it displays an ID instead of the handle
Steps to reproduce
- In order to configure a Bluesky account in our Gitlab profile at https://gitlab.eclipse.org/-/user_settings/profile :
- an "ID" ("did:plc") is requested:
-
First issue:
- this is not easy to get, would be easier to ask for a Bluesky "handle" (like for twitter/X)
-
Second issue:
-
even if we configure successfully the did:plc (I discovered we can retrieve it directly from your handle by opening this URL (replace my handle with yours): https://bsky.social/xrpc/com.atproto.identity.resolveHandle?handle=thomasfroment.bsky.social
-
THEN, the display name in our profile is still the ID, making difficult for people to understand this is actually a bluesky account:
-
What is the expected correct behavior?
- Configuration in the profile using directly the handle and not the did:plc ID
- Display name with the handle and not the did:plc ID
