Remove links to Archived projects, add file sizes
https://www.eclipse.org/projects/archives.php
Most of the files there are quite large, some 1GB+. To avoid needlessly wasting bandwidth to the new generation of AI bots and crawlers out there that stumble on these links and just start slurping stuff in, I'd like to make these changes:
- Display the actual size of the file, so humans at least know what they are in for
- Remove the links, and provide copy/paste URIs (mangled or not) that humans can use instead.
The scenario below is a vector for abuse: a 6G file is requested multiple times, seconds apart, from the same IP + user agent. Even at Gigabit LAN speeds, these requests can saturate the download infrastructure as the backend servers attempt to feed the front-end proxy as fast as they can; however, the client could have "left the chat" and went AWOL, which will take our servers several seconds to timeout.
