[Bug 471122] Confusing term 'feature ID' in Marketplace description

Bugzilla Link 471122
Status NEW
Importance P3 normal
Reported Jun 26, 2015 07:56 EDT
Modified Jul 17, 2021 05:42 EDT

Description

The description at http://marketplace.eclipse.org/feature-how-to states

%< -----------------------
You can find these IDs by opening the site.xml file at the root of your Eclipse Update site. Inside this file you will find a list of tags for each of the features present on your Update Site. Please provide the the feature id string for each feature that should be installed by default for your product.
%< -----------------------

The first thing that I find confusing is the site.xml which had been in use many years ago by the Eclipse Update Manager; one of the good things with p2 is that this type of file isn't used any more.

The second confusing part is the feature ID. Do we really need to enter the feature ID, or do we need to enter the ID of the p2 installable unit, i.e. the feature.group?
