download.eclipse.org redirecting (sometimes) to http://download.eclipse.org:8080
Summary
I am naviagating around download.eclipse.org and sometimes (Randomly?) the server is replying with 301 and URL starting with http://download.eclipse.org:8080 which eventually times out

Visit https://download.eclipse.org:8080/technology/epp and click around on the various subfolders

Redirects should not go to http: or to :8080

Impact
Random parts of download.eclipse.org don't work. Not sure to what extent this affects, but it seems serious to me?

PS I tried to check https://eclipsestatus.io/ (is that the correct URL) but it is redirecting to https://webdev.eclipse.org/docs/api/
Oops, it seems https://www.eclipsestatus.io/ is the correct URL (missed www) in above comment.

I've fixed the inclusion of the port number on redirect, which seems to be apaches default behaviour when it's uncertain of the server name.
But I've been unable to locate or replicate the other error, which should have been resolved as part of the issue @emerks pointed out.
I"ll spend some time watching the error log for the new service, but if you find a URL that is consistently reproducible please let me know and I'll go looking.

My Oomph builds still/again fail with a 503 problems.
It seems a little different though. The message indicates it's downloading from download.eclipse.org and the exception itself suggests its been redirected to archive.eclipse.org, but that fails with a 503:
Unable to read repository at https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/cdo/drops/R20140218-1655/plugins/org.eclipse.net4j.util_3.3.1.v20140218-1709.jar. java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 503 for URL: https://archive.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/cdo/drops/R20140218-1655/plugins/org.eclipse.net4j.util_3.3.1.v20140218-1709.jar
It does that even in a browser with repeated attempts on that URI:
But getting it to fail for a particular URL is difficult. The test mirrors a repository and generally fails at some point such that I expect the Oomph test running on the server will never work again.
More importantly, if I change the URL used in the test to use archive.eclipse.org directly that too fails:

So I think something is wrong with the archive.eclipse.org server itself and the failures are kind of sporadic but rather fundamental such that we see them even in the browser when following a redirection link shown in the browser:

curl -Oso I'm not sure how to make this reproducible for you, other than running the Oomph test itself. How best to track this problem down?You know, just the other night I'd thought I should prep an new instance of archive.e.o to mirror the new downloads deployment in the future, but it turns out that the right time was now.
This should now be fixed.
