Does something need to be configured to allow a commiter to mark a pull request for auto-merge?

Summary

In this issue I was asked to enable auto-merge for simrel.build:

https://github.com/eclipse-simrel/simrel.build/issues/103

I did that for the repository:

https://github.com/eclipse-simrel/simrel.build/settings

But it still seems that any particular pull request can't enable it as suggested should be possible here:

https://docs.github.com/en/pull-requests/collaborating-with-pull-requests/incorporating-changes-from-a-pull-request/automatically-merging-a-pull-request

Steps to reproduce

Enable auto-merge on a repo and then try use it on a pull request.

What is the current bug behavior?

There is no option on the pull request for auto-merge.

What is the expected correct behavior?

An option on the pull request for auto-merge after the verification builds/actions are completely.

Impact

For SimRel, folks contribute and then they need to come back a few minutes later to complete the task. Auto-merge would make this a little easier.
