@cwegekbu, the project license is specified as Apache-2.0. Is there a reason why that license was selected instead of EPL-2.0 (our standard license)?
@wbeaton We did a voting on the license among the project participants. Apache 2.0 was the lowest common denominator. Mike has confirmed that Apache 2.0 would be OK for this project. I expect more projects to come and I will open up the discussion then - once people used to working in an Eclipse Foundation context.
@mmilinkovich can you please provide your approval that Eclipse Tractus-X can use the Apache-2.0 as project license?
@shmacdonald can you please validate that we can use "Eclipse Tractus-X" as a project name?
Since there is no existing code base, my expectation is that the project team has not used the name before (it's also implied in the Legal Issues section of the proposal). @cwegekbu please advise if otherwise.
@shmacdonald tells me that she's responded that we can proceed with the project name, but I don't see her response here. I'll investigate that. In the meantime, I'll mark the "project name trademark" as approved.
Note that our check is only that the name does not infringe on any existing trademarks and that we can potentially register it. We do not as a matter of practice register all project names as trademarks. We can take that up separately if there is a requirement/desire to do so.
@wbeaton According to https://projects.eclipse.org/proposals/eclipse-tractus-x, Daniel Rheinbay (daniel.rheinbay@daimler.com) has created an EF account already, but I cannot add him as project lead. Please advice!
The system has an idiosyncrasy that requires that project leads log into https://projects.eclipse.org once, and then they can be added. By logging in, they tell this system that they exist.
