Create a new Model is failing silently in a Blanck Project

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a new Blank Project
2. Click on Create a new Model, a dialog appears:
   1. set a name
   2. there is no model type available (bug or feature ?)
   3. Click on Create -> a blank page appears
