Mention (new) contributors of Eclipse releases more prominently in the release notes
For each release the list of people who have contributed to the release is assembled for the Eclipse top-level project at:
But this side is currently very hidden and not easy to find.
We should evaluate if and where contributors and especially new contributors could be recognised more prominently to give them more 'fame' (if they want to) for their work.
In general I think it would be good to list contributors at https://eclipseide.org/ nearby the release notes. But one has to keep in mind that this page represents the entire IDE respectively the SimRel and the acknowledgements above cover only the Eclipse
top-level project.
One suitable place could be https://eclipseide.org/release/noteworthy/ respectively in the respective sub-pages of each of the Eclipse sub-projects.
When listing (new) contributors we could also add links to their GitHub accounts. Github itself proposes to generate the list of new contributors when one creates a new release for a project. Besides that the information about contributor in a new release can certainly be assembled automatically using the GH-api in a workflow.
